Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to know how to pose during the session?
No! You do not need to worry about knowing how to pose or what to do during your session. I will direct you the whole way through. I come prepared with prompts and poses. Don’t worry if you think you might feel awkward. Often times the more awkward and silly you feel, the better the photo looks. You just have to trust me!
Can you edit out blemishes, scars or tattoos?
Absolutely! Blemishes, scars and tattoos can be edited out. Please feel free to inquire directly for more details as it may incur an extra fee.
What should we wear to our session?
We recommend coordinating your colours and patterns instead of matching. Pick a palette of 3-4 colours. Think of earth tones, neutrals, pastels, etc. Pinterest is a great resource for outfit inspiration. Don’t be afraid to dress up! This is a special occasion so it is a wonderful opportunity to wear something special.
Do I need to pay a retainer to reserve my session or wedding day?
Yes. I require a 40% retainer due upon booking to secure your date. This retainer reserves your date exclusively for you.
What is your editing process?
I digitally retouch every image by hand with professional editing programs. I enhance each image as needed with colour corrections, skin smoothing, lighting adjustments etc.. Time frame for delivery is 2 weeks for engagement sessions, and 6 weeks for weddings. Engagement sessions are typically sent electronically and weddings are delivered on a drive right to your door.
What is your editing style?
Most photographers have a specific style in the way they edit their work. I love using moody earth tones. My preference is to edit on the darker side but this can vary slightly depending on the lighting conditions and colours of the subject and setting. Overall, if you prefer really bright editing, my work may not be suited to your style. Please refer to the “Wedding Gallery” page for examples of my past work.
How many photos will I receive with my package?
I am not able to guarantee any specific amount of shots. This is due to many factors, being the amount of guests, amount of décor, the location, speeches, activities etc. will affect the amount of photos being taken and delivered. We do however guarantee that your story will be told from start to finish of our services.
Where should I have my images printed?
There are so many options out there for places to have your images printed. It’s important to choose a high quality printing service that renders accurate colours & one that will not fade significantly over time. Using a bargain printing service could compromise the colour and quality of your images. Blacks is my printing service recommendation that offers reliable and high quality prints.
